STOP PERMANENT AGRICULTURE IN MALAYSIA NOW!

Permanent agriculture such as forest plantations are the main source of deforestation. This type of deforestation drives 74.0% of Malaysian forest loss. These forests have a high carbon content so when the trees are felled and the roots are removed, this increases global warming and directly implicates the climate in that area.
Rimba Watch estimates that Malaysia's forest cover will drop below 50% of total land cover in the near future. Because most of the forest is located in Sarawak and Sabah, there will be virtually be none left on the Malaysian Peninsula if this disaster happens, which it certainly will.
Not only does this calamity implicate humans all over the world, it also destroys key habitats for wildlife survival.
Malaysia is home to about 20% of the worlds species. These animals deserve better than be crushed by permanent agriculture.
