Animals have been evolving for millions of years to best suit their environment, so to deny them this basic privilege in favour of a cage and frequent abuse is ethically abhorrent.
There is no moral ground to excuse this vile practice, for even on the grounds of 'limited intelligence', as many animals are branded, this is still equatable to testing on mentally handicapped people.
Why should animals suffer inhumanely for our selfish benefits?
