- We--the people of the United States-- will soon be subjected to a relentless barrage of malicious and untruthful advertising intended to manipulate our votes in the upcoming Presidential election.
- This fantastically expensive blitz of aggressive and potentially vicious advertising in our media--especially television--will be paid for by corporations whose goals are not in the best interests of the working people of this country, or the future of the country as a whole.
- This type of advertising appeals to fear, indulges in stereotyping, creates false analogies, and makes use of every propaganda tool it can--it is a kind of brainwashing designed to undermine critical thinking.
- While both political sides use propaganda in advertising it is used to the greatest effect by the radical far right because their arguments for the best direction for the country are not held by a majority so they can only manipulate and make people afraid in order to prevail.
- This has lead to the tyranny of a loud and aggressive minority, as they have shown by creating appalling malfunction in the Congress in the last few years.
- We need to make room for factual information not propaganda. We must pay attention to this issue--it will only get worse. This is one way dictatorships start. Please sign this petition.
