Improve Laundry Facilities at Tartu College Student Residence

We, the students of Tartu College Student Residence in Toronto, ON, Canada, kindly request your support to address a pressing issue affecting our daily lives. The current laundry facilities at our residence are insufficient to meet the needs of 472 students. With only six washers and dryers available, we face long waiting times and constant frustration when trying to complete this essential task.

The lack of adequate laundry facilities has a significant impact on our academic performance and overall well-being. As students striving for success in our studies, we often find ourselves juggling multiple responsibilities. Having clean clothes is not only crucial for maintaining personal hygiene but also plays a vital role in boosting self-confidence and mental well-being.

1. Insufficient Capacity: With six washers and dryers serving 472 residents at Tartu College Student Residence, each machine serves approximately 79 individuals. This limited capacity leads to excessive waiting times that hinder productivity and cause unnecessary stress.

2. Inconvenience: According to research conducted by the University of California San Diego's Housing Department (2019), inadequate access to laundry facilities can negatively impact academic performance due to increased stress levels among students.
