JAPAN : STOP THE SLAUGHTER

"In 1986, the International Whaling Commission (IWC) enacted a moratorium on all commercial whaling. Since then, three nations - Iceland, Norway, and Japan - have brutally slaughtered over 25,000 whales under the guise of scientific research and for commercial purposes.

Japan continued to hunt whales using the scientific research provision in the agreement, and Japanese whaling is currently conducted by the "Institute of Cetacean Research". The meat from these scientific whale hunts is then sold in shops and restaurants. (...)"

"Japanese claim to be undertaking research by killing whales. However, most of the data collected by the Japanese ‘Scientific whaling’ programme is not required for management or conservation of whale stocks and is never published in reputable scientific journals."

Each year they are killing hundreds, or thousands (around 2000) of all kind of cetacea, including vulnerable and endangered species, and since 1986, they use as an excuse that it is for scientific RESEARCH ?

STOP this HYPOCRISY , STOP the MASSACRE , STOP this continued SLAUGHTER of unique animals ! This is totally unacceptable ! Such a shame !

Please sign in order to send (again) the message to the United Nations and to the Japanese government

thank you
