My twins are in tears, wondering why you didn't attract Hurambe away with his favorite food, and then send in your animal crew to save the child. I understand you made a hard decision, but given the kindness that appeared to be on Hurambe's face - and the danger of a 400-pound gorilla falling on the child after being shot - I can't help but believe you made a more dangerous choice both for the child and Hurambe. It's tragic to lose a creature so rare and magnificent in the world, and if you put the child in that dangerous position through negligence, then you owe the world a gorilla family to make up for the one you destroyed. Give Hurambe's life meaning - make a contribution that leads directly to new life for his species, and insure that he lives on.
