Support an Import Tax on Palm Oil!
Huge areas of rainforests have already been demolished to make room for palm-oil plantations. This destruction of habitat is putting rare endangered animals such as the Sumatran tiger and orangutan further at risk.
Palm oil is found in about half of supermarket products. A recent study found that consumers would be willing to pay 15 to 56 percent more for products containing palm oil if they knew it would help protect the tropical forests that so many endangered species call home.
