The new school year has barely kicked off and already a teacher has been shot and killed by a gunman at UNC-Chapel Hill. Video shows students leaping from second-story windows to escape. It's a horrifying, unthinkable state of affairs we've found ourselves in and we DON'T need to live like this!
There have already been 27 school shootings this year, well on pace to surpass last year's shocking total of 51 school shootings. We'll never know how many of those could have been prevented by commonsense gun reform, but we do know that taking action NOW could save countless lives this school year.
Tell Congress to pass commonsense gun reforms and put an end to school shootings!
Gun violence affects kids in every state, red or blue, and is the leading cause of death for American children. No other country in the world puts up with this incessant bloodshed, so why should we?
Enough is enough. Congress needs to take decisive action ASAP to protect our kids from mass shootings and gun violence at school — and everywhere else.
Tell Congress to act NOW to protect our kids from shootings this school year!
