Ban the Sale and Trade of Peacock Feathers

The peacock is gradually becoming a prey of a growing business among young product designers, who use the beautiful birds' gorgeous blue-green feathers  to make home decor items, pens, earrings, etc.

Currently, an Act prohibits the killing of peacocks as well as export of tail feathers or articles made from them. But, the Act allows domestic trade in feathers or articles under the assumption that these are naturally shed.

Since there is no way to tell if feathers were "naturally shed" the peacock remains in danger of rampant poaching, illegal trapping and killing of the birds for the purpose of their feathers in the black market trade.

Please imposed a comprehensive ban on the sale, transfer and trade of ALL peacock feathers. Close the loophole that allows for "naturally shed" feathers.
