Tell Republican Moderates: Put Country over Party, and Make Hakeem Jeffries Speaker

Hakeem Jeffries has won every vote so far for speaker. And if just 6 Republicans supported him, he'd have the majority necessary to be speaker.

It's time for the few remaining Republican moderates to break with party, and back Jeffries.

The alternative is to stand by as Kevin McCarthy cedes power completely to a lunatic fringe of insurrectionists and conspiracy theorists who tried to destroy our democracy.

If these Republicans care about their country and constitution, the choice should be clear. And if it isn't, at least we'll know where they stand.
