California build desalination plants

California needs to start utilizing the massive coast line it has instead of piping in water from other rivers. The amount of water the state needs is more than the fresh water in surrounding areas can provide and is causing droughts not only state wide but in other states as well. The technology is there for water desalination and needs to be implemented or the drought will never end and continue to get worse causing humans and many animals to suffer as well as aiding in the occurrence of forest fires. 

Please do the responsible thing and build desalination plants that are powered by wind. Think of the good that would come from such a venture for generations to come.
