Why is RFK Jr. still making decisions?

RFK Jr. is the United States Secretary of Health. This man who has had a chunk of his brain eaten by a worm is the one in charge of making decisions regarding health in America.

He's spread misinformation, telling us that the link between autism and vaccines is real. IT NEVER WAS.
Aside from that, health companies' power is shrinking. The CDC has lost authority. Certain words are banned in scientific and medical journals.

He himself has said that people shouldn't take medical advice from him (duh, go to your doctors). Why is he still in the Senate?
