Tell Governor Hochul: Stop the PSC and National Grid from Shutting Down Solar Education in New York

A clerical error is now being used to shut down solar farms that have been teaching New York students about renewable energy since 2010.

The New York Public Service Commission revoked our certification over a paperwork mistake, and National Grid has already halted community solar credits—putting these education-focused solar farms at risk. Instead of protecting community solar, this decision effectively allows a large utility to shut down local renewable energy projects, contradicting New York’s clean-energy mission.

For more than a decade, our solar projects have provided:

    • Hands-on renewable energy education for students
    • Pollinator habitat and an active bee farm
    • Renewable-energy safety training for fire departments and police across New York

Students visit these farms, see solar technology in action, and learn how clean energy works in the real world. Without intervention, these student programs, pollinator habitats, and community solar benefits could disappear because of a simple paperwork error.

    Why Your Signature Matters

Every signature shows Governor Hochul and New York regulators that communities support solar education, renewable energy, and protecting projects that benefit students and pollinators.

Governor Hochul must intervene now to restore certification and protect these community solar education facilities.
