Keep Kids Walking in Austin! Safe School Access to Highland Park Elementary!

There is a Safty Barrier for childeren West of Mopac Bridge on Hancock Dr to walk to school Safely. It is important that children have safe access to walk to their school on a daily basis. Even as an adult crossing Valley Oak Dr at Hancock Dr is risking your life due to cars not stopping before the corner where the Stopsign is.  Creating a safe environment to walk to school improves children's health, fitness and prepares them for a day of learning.   

We are petitioning for: Safe walking acccess to Highland Park Elementary School

1)Crosswalk painted on the street across Valley Oak Dr Correct Stopsign placement on Valley Oak at Hancock Dr South side.

2)Handicap Accessable sidewalk at the southwest corner of Valley Oak and Hancock Dr.
