On August 10, 2019 Cooper bit my wife Jeanne after she accidentally hit his infected left ear. Jeanne had to have stitches at the hospital. The medical professionals asked her what happened and she told them; she was feeding the dog on the couch, bent down to pet Cooper, hit his infected ear, startled the dog generating tremendous pain and he defended himself. The incident was investigated and we were told that he had to remain in the house for two weeks...two weeks came and went and an officer from Orange County Animal Control came over to the house, interviews Jeanne and me, Steven Kelly, while Cooper, well behaved as always, sat on the carpet across from the officer. The officer filled out a report, thanked us for our time and left.
We thought that was the end of the story...
11 month's later the Orange County Animal Control labels Cooper a vicious/dangerous/violent dog.
Excuse me?!
Cooper is one of the most well behaved, gentle dogs you will ever meet. Everyone that has ever had exposure to Cooper will agree with this comment.
Our dog, Cooper is not a violent/vicious/dangerous dog.
Cooper is intelligent, gentle/soft, well behaved and has never been violent, ever. Labeling Cooper as a violent dog is wrong.
We the undersigned strongly disagree with Orange County Animal Controls determination that Cooper Kelly is a violent/vicious/dangerous dog.
Cooper Kelly is kind, gentle, loving and one of the most well behaved dogs I have ever met.
Please do not label Cooper Kelly vicious, this is wrong.
