Fund Education by Dismantling Trump's Tax Breaks

Did you know that across the U.S., 18 percent of teachers are driven to take a second job to supplement their full-time salaries. Or that a teacher's average weekly wages are 17 percent lower than comparable workers?

Following the model of Trump's proposals to slash federal funding for education, states have been cutting teacher pay and reducing money for school resources.

Reduced to desperation, hundreds of thousands of public school teachers around the U.S. have been forced to strike.

Now Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have a solution: if the Democrats win a majority in the 2018 midterms, they would dismantle Trump tax cuts in order to boost education. This would include dedicating $50 billion to states and school districts to improve teachers' salaries and another $50 billion for school infrastructure improvement.

The salary cuts and infrastructure issues are harming our most vulnerable communities: children. Not to mention the people we entrust to educate them. We need better pay for teachers and funding for schools, we don't need tax cuts for the rich - it's as simple as that.

Sign now if you agree we should fund schools and pay teachers better, not cut taxes for the wealthy.
