The 2nd amendment reads in the beginning, "For A Militia ". This statement is so powerful that congress has tried to remove it ,to give gun lobbyist more power and take it away the from us. "We the People". For a militia definition , all able-bodied citizens eligible by law to be called on to provide military service supplementary to the regular armed forces. Our congress should impose this type of registration for guns . Then people should go through registering their guns so the government knows what is in thier arsenal, is the person carrying the fire arm mental and physical capable to use this fire or fire arms . This would allow our government to use, place a militia the most affective way need in a time national crisis Instead of having a free for all . It would take guns out of criminals by imposing heavy fines and imprisonments . Remember a "gunman" is really a terrorist .Why do our children have to keep dying in schools . Why do gangs and the "wrong people" one person to who takes the law into their owns. ,steel away your constitutional right to life , liberty and peruse happiness . A militia is for our country, to protect its citizen who cant protect themselves in a national crisis. Why is it ok for 6 year old child to be in possession of a hand gun , bring the gun to school and shoot a teacher . Its not right to own hand gun for hunting, its not a right to own a hand gun and commit murder or terrorize people with. With a formal militia formed and organized, guns would be in the hands of people are willing to protect their country, the people ,their land and family. You could still own a gun . You could buy and sell your gun, the difference is that a gun owner would have to be responsible and take responsibility in using your fire arm. Just thinking you can defend your family and lawlessly shoot another person, an American just because you feel threaten as an excuse to own a gun. We have right to send our children to school with out fear, we have a right to be out in public with out fear. I have asked many gun owners would they oppose this type of control and their response was no. bring back your constitutional right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness .
