I Will Not Buy Cars from Companies That Weaken Greenhouse Gas Standards
I am a current or future car buyer who cares about climate stability, public health, and responsible corporate leadership.
In light of recent deregulation of greenhouse gas emissions standards at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, I am closely watching how automobile manufacturers respond. My future purchasing decisions will depend on whether companies choose to weaken their own emissions goals and climate commitments—or continue advancing cleaner transportation.
Strong vehicle emissions standards drive innovation, reduce pollution, protect communities, and support long-term economic stability. Even when regulations change, companies retain the power to lead responsibly through their technology investments, internal targets, and public advocacy.
As a consumer, I will prioritize purchasing from automakers that:
Maintain or strengthen science-based emissions and efficiency goals
Continue investing in electrification and low-carbon technologies
Publicly support durable environmental and public-health protections
If a manufacturer chooses to scale back climate commitments or align with weakened standards, I will take that into account and direct my business elsewhere.
Consumers influence markets.
My future car purchase will reflect climate responsibility.
Signed,
Consumers committed to clean transportation and long-term climate stability.
