EU citizens suffer from mental disorders, due to witnessing animal cruelty.

We - the citizens of the European Union have sleep disorders - through social media, we are witness to horrific atrocities against companion animals and many times it is the homeless companion animals, being treated unimaginably cruel.

We witness pictures, movies and newspaper articles that bear witness to real and unimaginable cruelty to animals in many EU Member States and Candidate countries.

We know that the EU is fully aware of the atrocities taking place in Member States, and we are now wondering how long the EU will wait to take action against all cruelties? When will the EU step in and help the dogs and cats?

Many of us citizens, crying ourselves to sleep - we can not stop thinking about all the cruelties going on by evil people and all dogs that are trapped in horrific municipal enclosures and starving to death ....

The homeless animals have lost their status as companion animals and they are seen as vermin to combat by all means - not as sentient beings.

People take no responsibility for the animals they care for, but allow dogs and cats run free on the streets and in villages - unneutered. There is no proof of ownership, which contributes to lower responsibilities to take care of an animal. And when someone got tired or can not afford to care, they simply abandon the animal, without being penalized for what this means for the animal and also the society.

Member States with many abandoned animals, has no directives or guidelines to follow, and no governments in EU Member State with homeless animals, contributes to information, education or neutering campaigns for their citizens.

In countries with many abandoned and homeless animals, citizens of all ages are forced to witness and experience serious animal cruelty and violence towards animals. Many of these witnesses have to suffer this on a regular basis, day and night and are helpless to do anythingto help the animals. It effects people mentally, with many suffering from insomnia, post traumaticstress disorder and other mental illnesses. Children are deeply affected and we have a duty to protect children from witnessing heinous crimes towards animals. It is also common knowledge and a proven fact that many people who perpetrate crimes against animals, move on to crimes against humans.

We know that the EU is fully aware of the atrocities taking place in Member States, and we are now wondering how long the EU will wait to take action against all cruelties? When will the EU step in and help the dogs and cats?
