DARA, AMOI, KELAT - STOP SENDING OUT ELEPHANTS AWAY

Three Malaysian elephants, Dara, Amoi, and Kelat, have been transferred from Malaysia to Japan. Many Malaysians are deeply concerned about their welfare and long-term wellbeing. Elephants are highly intelligent and social animals that require large natural environments, familiar caretakers, and stable social groups to live healthy lives.

Moving them far away from their original home may cause stress, difficulty adapting to a new climate, and separation from their natural surroundings. Many people worry that their quality of life may be reduced if they are kept in a limited zoo environment instead of a habitat closer to their natural ecosystem.

We respectfully urge the authorities to review this decision and ensure that the welfare of these elephants is the top priority. The proposed solution is to reassess the transfer and consider returning Dara, Amoi, and Kelat to Malaysia or placing them in a spacious conservation sanctuary where they can live in conditions closer to their natural habitat.

We also call for transparent monitoring of their welfare and stronger protection policies for Malaysian wildlife so that animals like these elephants can live safely and humanely.
