While signing a repeal for SGR is wonderful, signing the Medicare Physician Payment Innovation Act of 2012 supports, "fully repeal(ing) the SGR, stabilizes current payment rates to ensure beneficiary access in the near-term, eliminates scheduled SGR cuts, creates positive incentives for undervalued primary, preventive and coordinated care services, and sets out a clear path toward comprehensive payment reform." Dear Petitioner,
Cutting payments to Medicare providers penalizes physicians for a flawed system and jeopardizes treatment to Medicade consumers. Repealing SGR is only a bandaid to the problem, not a solution. I want a long term solution to this problem, which is put forth by the Medicare Physician Payment Innovation Act of 2012.
