Urge the Government to Help Save Australian Rainforest Trees from Extinction

Big-fruited Australian rainforest trees may need human intervention to ensure they spread and survive, according to a report on ABC.net.au

Scientists have found that trees with large fleshy fruits are now rare in Australia because few animals are able to spread their seeds. The news report states: "The survival of such species may rely on human-assistant transplantation to establish new populations, or even possibly introduction of animals such as cassowaries to help ensure their dispersal."

"Without good dispersal, a plant species is more vulnerable to such threats as climate change, disease or extinction."

Rainforest trees must be saved! Will you join me in urging the Federal Government to fund programs that will help ensure the survival of large-fruited rainforest trees, which may include human-assistant transplantation to establish new populations, with the possible introduction of native animals to help dispersal?
