Hi,
My 3 year old son has a rare blood disorder called hereditary spherocytosis,
Causing anemia and jaundice and many more complications,
Resulting in many quick dashes to the hospital where we get Drs and nurses who have no clue about the condition,
We're made to sit in a and e and waiting a round for hours waiting for bloods,
In the mean time my little one is getting sicker and sicker and at risk of catching all the many bugs and illnesses in the air,
With a weaken immune system he is more at risk than others.
Having a simple machine like the one used by diabetics we could test his blood at home and then know if we need to him In or not, saving a lot of hassle, time and stress while also avoiding any germs that could harm him and make him much worse.
These machines cost around £1000 for a decent, realiable one if these were available on the nhs it would make life a lot more easier for people with blood disorders like my son.
