For so long we've accepted landfills as a solution to our own consumption. Often tossing items without giving them a second thought. According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average American dumps almost 4.5 pounds of waste into landfills every single day. If everyone in the United States alone reused 1 item each day we would divert more than 6,235,912,417 lbs of trash from our waste stream.
Take the pledge today and join our movement to change the way we consume and create. While we may not be able to completely eliminate the garbage coming out of our homes, if we find creative ways to reuse materials (along with recycling) we will cut back on the amount of trash we produce while injecting color, textures, and wonder into our lives and communities.
