The Port Vila Municipality recently just issued a ban on bikes and quad bikes in Port Vila CBD for the reason to "limit traffic congestion and noise pollution." It seems they prefer V8 cars that consume too much petrol and those smoke belching buses to be polluting the town than more environmental- friendly bikes and quads.

"Before banning quad bike which is more economical for most ni-vans and good for roads like Beverlyhills, Ohlen, and most roads in vila, PVMC should look at the buses and unworthy vehicles entering the CBD such as vehicles with too much smoke because it is a direct health risk to both tourist and locals... I'd rather hear those noise than breath the poisonous chemicals from buses and trucks that are never being serviced...I'd be more concerned with Traffic congestions in the CBD than quad bikes...Poison smoke from vehicles gives lung cancer" -Milroy Cainton
