The same week Jeff Bezos took a joy ride into space and literally thanked Amazon employees and customers for paying for that, Amazon announced they will stop testing their warehouse workers for COVID.

The audacity of this man is unbelievable: roughly 20,000 or his warehouse workers have contracted the deadly coronavirus, undoubtedly many of them at work. Many workers have criticized the company's handling of the virus, specifically not implementing enough safety measures within their warehouses. In fact, on-site testing is one of the few things they have done to try to reduce the spread. Now they say they will end that testing program at the end of July 2021.
Many workers have even asserted they've been fired for blowing the whistle on how unsafe warehouse conditions have been during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic is absolutely not over. AJ+ is reporting that not even 50% of Amazon warehouse workers are vaccinated. With those numbers and new variants like Delta, which is 60% more contagious, warehouses need increased access to testing, not decreased.
