Save Kagu

The kagu has blue-gray plumage, a stocky body, and a crest of feathers on its head that stand up when the animal is threatened. It is a ground-dwelling bird and is often seen perched on one leg while stalking prey in the soil. Its bill is uniquely adapted to ground foraging by having special covered nostrils to prevent dirt from entering the nose. This species is found only in New Caledonia and is threatened by loss of habitat.
