Save Children from Preventable Blindness

Childhood should be a time where children are free to learn, grow, and embrace their full potential. Yet, too many children around the world face more serious issues, like increased risk of disease and even blindness, because of a preventable vitamin deficiency.

Vitamin A Deficiency (VAD) is the leading cause of preventable childhood blindness in developing countries. What's more, children who are vitamin A deficient are at a greater risk of death as the condition compromises immune system function.

There is a solution, however. Just two high-dosage vitamin A capsules every year are needed to prevent VAD.

Helen Keller International has been partnering with governments and international and non-governmental organizations in Africa and Asia-Pacific to design, implement and monitor vitamin A supplementation programs for decades, but we need your help to raise awareness about these vital programs.

No child should needlessly lose their sight. Pledge to spread the word to your family and friends about the dangers of Vitamin A Deficiency and the importance of fighting this preventable condition around the world!
