New Information: Mom had a heart attack on December 21, 2007. She is doing pretty well. With two blockages one at 100% and one at 95%. Mom is just happy to be with her family and friends. The Barnes have become partners under a 501c3 program in Georgia and are working on a support group for the medically fragile short gut families.
A little history:
We have appeared on the Dr. Keith Ablow show.Our family really needs your vote. We are seeking a company that will be wiling to purchase the home that we now rent and make it handicapped accessible and more kid friendly. Because of moms condition, it needs to be disable friendly as well. One of our twins is medically fragile and is still on a feeding pump each night.
Here are a few things about our family:
*After only six months of marriage. Mom had to receive chemo & radiation for cancer*After miracle twin boys born.
Twin "B" CJ was at deaths door with a intestine rupture.
*After 10 days of their birth, mom suffered heart failure.
*After a year of hospital visits and heartache-Our family was forced to move out of our home of 9 years because someone was robbed at gunpoint in front of our door.
*After moving into a home to rent this is what we went through. We found out from neighbors that suicide was commited in the bathroom. There was a meth lab in the back yard. The home was full of mold and mildew and the utilities put our family into even more severe debt.
Present time:
We are now renting a very nice home and are moving forward with our support group for the medically fragile. Our home needs to be handicap accessible to accoplish respite for our support group familes and our mentor and partner who is a paraplegic. We would love a commitment from Extreme Home Makeovers to tear this home down and start all over. It would be the best wish ever granted for this family. I Dare you to help us Ty (LOL) Please spread the word and let it be know that so many familes will be helped with this project.

Update: December 21, 2007, mom at 39 yrs old suffered a heart attack. The family is still trying to help others by creating a support group for NICU parents and babies.
Our family really needs your love. *I suffered from Hodgkins Disease.I had to receive chemo & radiation and was told that I would probably not be able to conceive. After 7 long years, we were pregnant with twin boys. After our miracle twin boys born. CJ was at deaths door with a condition called NEC(Short gut syndrome) He lost almost all of his intestines. It was full of gangrene and he had immediate surgery to determine if he would live. The very same day, mom had congestive heart failure and her heart if working at less than 20%.After a almost two years 8 operations, over 20 blood transfusions, colostomy bag and numerous hospital stays, or family is blessed to be together. Our family was forced to move out of our appt. home of 9 years because someone was robbed at gunpoint in front of our door. It was no longer safe in our neighborhood for the babies. After moving into a home to rent. We found out from neighbors that suicide was commited in the home and someone was murdered here. The home is not insulated and we pay almost as much in utilities as the rent. It should never have been rented to anyone. I am not able to work because of heart failure, My husband faithfully goes to work everyday.
