Support Healthcare Access for Disaster Victims

Everyone deserves access to healthcare, no matter who they are or where they live. Unfortunately, some of the most underserved communities are also the ones hit hardest by disasters, and as a result face critical healthcare gaps as they attempt to recover. Take a stand and support healthcare access for all.

Just one year ago, Doctors of the World stepped up to help those in need in the Northeastern United States after Hurricane Sandy. In New York, the Rockaways suffered the brunt of the storm’s devastation. In an area where 20% of people live below the poverty line, thousands were left without access to medical care. Doctors of the World responded in the immediate aftermath by sending doctors door to door, assessing needs and providing care.

And Doctors of the World stayed in the Rockaways, long after media and public attention went elsewhere. This past October, the Doctors of the World Rockaways Free Clinic opened to the public on Beach 102nd Street. This clinic provides preventive and primary care to all in need regardless of their ability to pay.

Not only is Doctors of the World meeting needs in the Rockaways, it's working to provide healthcare access for the most vulnerable populations around the world. While the Philippines is recovering from one of the most powerful storms in recorded history, Doctors of the World is there, providing medicines and emergency medical care.

From the Philippines to the Rockaways, everyone deserves access to healthcare. Add your name to our pledge if you agree.
