Demand an end to the slaughter of horses in America. Petition the Pesident to issue a pardon for all horses in the U.S.se in America

Dear President Obama,
It is customary for the outgoing president to give clemency by way of executive order to particular individuals or groups. I ask you, Mr. President, who is more deserving of a presidential pardon than the most majestic of our friends, the American horse?
Without the horse, how could we have won the West? The horse in America was as important to the success of our United States as was an single man or group of men. Yet for all their contributions, horses in America can still be cruelly and barbarically slaughtered, and chopped up into dog food. The Congress is unwilling or unable to act to stop this senseless slaughter. I have personally signed at least 10 separate petitions addressing this issue to Congress over the last eight years, all to no avail. I believe an executive order is our only hope of saving horses from slaughter for profit in the U.S.
