Take Action to Lower Your Cancer Risk
One of every two children born today will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
However, we can take action!
Pledge to take these ten steps to lower your risk of cancer on behalf of those who love you. Then share the pledge with your loved ones:
1. I will avoid tobacco.
2. I will stay lean, but not purposefully underweight.
3. I will engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily.
4. I will eat a variety of vegetables, fruits, legumes, and grains.
5. I will limit my intake of red meat and pass on processed meat.
6. I will limit my intake of alcohol to two drinks (man) or one drink (woman) daily.
7. I will limit my intake of foods that are salty or processed.
8. I will limit my exposure to sunlight and tanning beds.
9. I will work with my physician to create a cancer screening schedule and then follow it.
10. I will partner with a local cancer center to support cancer research in my community.
