Require Hands-Only CPR Training for Alaska Students Before Graduation

Alaska is one of the few states that does not require students to learn hands-only CPR before graduation — and that needs to change.

Each year, thousands of children experience cardiac arrest outside of hospitals. Quick action and CPR can mean the difference between life and death. By equipping students with this lifesaving skill, we can dramatically improve survival rates and empower the next generation to respond to cardiac emergencies.

We're urging Alaska lawmakers to make hands-only CPR training a graduation requirement for all high school students.

This simple, effective training can be taught in a single class period and has the power to save lives - in schools, homes, and especially in our rural Alaska communities where first responders are far away.
