DYFS routinely labels accidental deaths among children as parental negligence. Please help demand more respect for the grieving parents of children that were victims of fatal accidents.
Through research and personal experience, I have discovered that DYFS "routinely" assesses fatal tragedies; (accidents) as Negligence. These findings are based soley on the tragic incident, without proper investigations being conducted; as well as ignoring or dismissing evidence to the contrary. The loss of a child is indescribeable. The grief a parent lives with on a daily basis is unbelievable. DYFS makes it a routine practice to enforce undue guilt and mental anguish for the parent of a lost child by accusing them of neglect, although other circumstances show different. This should not be allowed to be common practice. The finacial and emotional burden this places on a parent should not be accepted practice. Unfortunately, "true" accidents happen. Parents should not be repeatedly tormented by DYFS; nor put on a child neglect registry if this is the case. We, as parents, need to protect the honor of our lost children. Citing us as neglectful infers that our child was not loved or properly cared for. Please help us attain our goal and demand changes.
