Republican states, led by Texas, pushed to redistrict early to help Republican House candidates win more races, and help Republicans keep the House.
And instead of whining or writing a sternly-worded letter, California decided to fight fire with fire, and pass its own measure (proposition 50) to add as many as 5 new Democratic districts.
We salute California, and Governor Newsom for driving this effort, and we urge all other Democratic states that can help elect more Democrats to do the same.
Yes, it would be great if we didn't have to do this, and could have simple, sensible rules that covered the nation. But that's not happening, Republicans are changing the rules to make their job easier, and if we don't fight back to counter this, there is no way we can win the House, and no way we can keep our democracy.
So please add your name, and Tell other Democratic states to follow California's lead, and redistrict to help Democrats win back the House.
