Please support TNR for the Cats in Benjamin Rush State Park. Do not kill them.

In North East Philadelphia PA, in Benjamin Rush State Park, quietly living behind the shadows of the trees are the park's feral cats. Few people come every day and feed the cats. The cats being wild do not trust so they cannot be adopted. One of their caretakers was told not to feed the cats because the park is going to have the city come and take the cats away.. to be killed as feral cats are not considered adoptable. The park officials says it is better to remove the cats to save the wildlife. But what they do not realize is that trapping and removing the cats only encourages more females to breed thus doubling the population! It is called the vacuum effect. The only humane method is TNR. Trap the cats humanely, have the cat vaccinated and spayed or neutered, then released back and fed. The cats are happier, the colony does not get bigger, the fixed ferals do not let new cats in so the colony is slowly diminished. Less cats means better survivial for the park's wildlife. Please sign this petition to show your support for TNR. Please State Rush Park, see how PA's citizens realize that TNR is the only and best way in feral cat control. It is less expensive and effective.
