$2.2 Billion in One Year. Trump Is Using the Presidency to Personally Enrich Himself and His Businesses.

Trump just submitted financial disclosures, as required by U.S. federal law. Through this, we learned that just in the first year he returned to office - 2025, one single year - he somehow accumulated $2.2 billion. Billions, with a B, and plural. Over the course of 365 days, that amounts to an average of more than $6 million each day.

Meanwhile, the American people are suffering. Groceries are more expensive. Gas, rent, and utilities are all more expensive. These are basic things that people need in order to function in their lives.

Presidents already earn a yearly salary of $400,000. That is plenty! Tell Congress to pass a law mandating that any future President must donate any earnings outside of this $400,000 directly back to the U.S. Treasury. Sign the petition!

When reporters asked Trump whether he was concerned about inflation hurting everyday people in the US, he directly said, "No. I love it... I love the inflation." Separately, when talking about Americans' economic difficulties, he said: "I don't think about Americans' financial situation," in fact "not even a little bit."

It's not just that there's a widening chasm between Trump's personal financial enrichment and the average American's experience. Portions of Trump's money also appear to be tied to outright corruption and even money laundering. We've learned this from Capital One bank. Back in 2021, the bank closed upwards of 300 accounts associated with the Trump Organization. Trump and his son Eric sued over this last year. So now, Capital One is revealing why it closed to accounts - that's because an extensive internal investigation revealed probable money laundering.

There's undoubtedly even more information that the American people deserve to know - but that Trump is actively hiding. After the BBC aired its 2024 documentary about the insurrectionists of January 6, Trump sued the British broadcaster for $10 billion - again, billion with a B. He claimed that the documentary caused "massive economic damage" to "the value of his brand, properties, and businesses." So, naturally, during the discovery process, the BBC requested Trump's financial records to see if these claims - made in a court of law - were true.

But Trump is so insistent on keeping his records hidden, he's actually now requesting to change his whole lawsuit to remove any references to business or economic harm and to exclusively focus on "reputational harm" instead.

So - in short - we don't even know the full extent of what Trump's finances look like. But what we already know is quite shocking. U.S. Presidents are public servants, and need to remember that. They are not elected to these roles to enrich themselves, their businesses, or their families. No president should be taking in this kind of money - and if they are, they certainly need to be legally bound to invest it right back in the American people.

Sign the petition to demand that Congress legally require any earnings for a President or President's businesses or organizations, outside of the $400,000 / year salary, to be immediately donated to the U.S. treasury.
