Time to Demand Diversity on Corporate Boards

It’s time the Corporate World started to look like the real world. It’s time we demand gender, racial and ethnic diversity within our corporate boards and C-suites. Join Treasurer Deb Goldberg and demand that corporations bring more women and people of color into leadership positions!

We know what’s good for our communities is also good for business. Recent research finds that companies that embrace gender or racial and ethnic diversity are more likely to have financial returns above their national industry peers. 

As chairwoman of the Commonwealth’s $66 billion Pension Reserves Investment Trust (PRIT) Fund, Treasurer Goldberg is taking a stand. She’s using PRIT’s clout to influence the 9,000+ companies in which the state invests to diversify their boards and C-suites.

In February 2016, the Peterson Institute for International Economics working paper surveyed  nearly 22,000 firms globally. It “found that in 2014 almost 60% of these firms had no female board members, just over half had no female C-suite executives, and fewer than 5% had a female CEO.”
