Abortion Is Unstoppable

The United States is facing a national abortion access crisis. With Roe v. Wade overturned, lawmakers across the country, at every level, are enacting record-breaking abortion restrictions. Some are outright banning abortion all together.

No matter what those in power say: Abortion is unstoppable. We are defiant and we are resolved. Self-managed abortion with pills is safe. It is effective. It is here to stay.

Self-managed abortion occurs when a person chooses to perform their own abortion outside of a medical setting. There are many reasons why one may manage their own abortion: It may be because abortion care at a clinic is unavailable, inaccessible, or not desired by the individual.

Within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, misoprostol is safe and approximately 85 percent effective in terminating a pregnancy. The World Health Organization (WHO) has put misoprostol on their list of essential medicines, and created a protocol for how to safely and effectively manage an abortion with misoprostol, without direct provider supervision. This information belongs to everyone.
