Protect Dogs From Being Euthanized

73 year-old Edwin Fry's greatest fear became a reality when his dog was euthanized at a local animal shelter. The poodle, Buddy Tough, was put to sleep after Fry was arrested for breaking Buddy out of the shelter.

Fry accepts full responsibility his actions and realizes there are consequences for breaking the law. Yet he took action to save a life. The shelter did not need to punish him by taking the life of an innocent animal who had a caring owner.

While it is obvious Fry made some mistakes, it was his loyal companion who was ultimately the one being punished. Buddy Tough had a caring owner and no history of aggression -- why was he killed?

Demand a change in policy at Oklahoma animal shelters to ensure no more pets are killed.

Attorney General Edmondson,

While the owner of Buddy Tough, Edwin Fry, was wrong to break the law, I do not believe this gives any animal shelter the right to take away an innocent animal's life. Buddy Tough was shown no compassion at a shelter that is intended to take care of animals.

Laws must be put into place to make sure animals aren't unnecessarily put to death. We must learn from this situation and take the time to give animals a chance to live.
