Don’t forget Syrians struggling to survive a brutal winter

In Syria’s hard-to-reach mountainous regions, temperatures regularly drop below freezing. Cut off by their country’s civil war, which is about to enter its seventh year, vulnerable people are trapped in dire winter conditions.

They live in unheated, makeshift shelters. Food is scarce and expensive. Healthcare is virtually non-existent.

Without winter clothing or thermal blankets, 70-year-old grandmother Aisha burns garbage in a desperate attempt to keep her two daughters and three grandchildren warm. The family survives on dry bread and one meal a day.

The UN Refugee Agency is rushing lifesaving food, clean water, medicine, winter clothing, thermal blankets, mattresses and sleeping bags to the estimated 6.3 million Syrians like Aisha and her family in remote locations.

Sign our petition and join USA for UNHCR to advocate for these vulnerable children, women and men who have suffered for years. Their lives are in jeopardy, but together we can reach them.
An estimated 6.3 million Syrians are trapped inside their country, living in remote areas cut off by a brutal war entering its seventh year.

They survive on one meal a day. Their unheated, makeshift shelters offer meager protection against subfreezing temperatures. Healthcare is virtually non-existent.

I will not stand by when the lives of innocent families are in jeopardy.

Syrians have suffered for six horrific years. I refuse to let them face another winter alone.
