Every Child Needs A Loving Home
Babies and children depend on and trust their parents to love and care for them. But some parents can't or won't take care of their children. These kids suffer the most from poverty and illness or are forced to become prostitutes or child soldiers.
What these kids need most is the safety, stability and room to grow that comes from having a trusted adult to love them and teach them the skills they need to break out of poverty and achieve their dreams.
The United Nations has made serious commitments to reducing poverty -- but goals cannot be reached if we don't address the needs of abandoned children and set them on a path where they'll be able to get an education and support themselves when they grow up.
Urge UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to support programs that make sure every child has a safe place to live and trusted adult to raise him or her.
Dear Secretary-General Ban,
Thank you for leading the United Nations' efforts to combat global poverty with the Millennium Development Goals. But in order to hit these aggressive objectives, you must make sure that abandoned children get a home and a trusted adult to care for them to escape a life of poverty.

Abandoned children suffer the most from poverty and illness. Some are forced to become child prostitutes or soldiers. Without the care, protection and love of an adult they endure horrors and never get a chance learn or grow in ways that will enable them to succeed.
In your continued efforts to end poverty, please support programs that give abandoned children a safe and stable home to make sure this generation has more opportunities.
