WWF's 2026 Living Planet Report found that wildlife populations have declined by 73% on average over the past five decades. Yet the report also shows that environmental degradation and decline can be reversed when governments take action.
We know how to counteract habitat destruction, overexploitation of wildlife and nature, and a changing climate — but we need Congress to act.
Tell Congress: we have the power to reverse biodiversity loss if we invest in nature now.
Dear [send:full_name],
WWF's 2026 Living Planet Report shows that wildlife populations have declined by a staggering 73% on average over the past five decades. But the report also gives reasons for hope: species recovery is possible, and it's happening right now with tigers, Atlantic and Pacific bluefin tuna, southern African savanna elephants, and green sea turtles.
In each of these cases, US government support for conservation has played a critical role in their success. These species are proof of what's possible when we invest in nature and put the right policies in place. If we want to create more conservation success stories, we need to address the underlying drivers of nature loss and species decline. As your constituent, I ask you to support programs that invest in conservation and the protection our natural environment by:
When we protect nature, we protect ourselves. The food we eat depends on productive pollinators and fertile soil. The water we drink depends on intact rivers, lakes, and wetlands. The air we breathe depends on healthy forests, oceans, and grasslands.
The Living Planet Report makes one thing clear: decline is not inevitable, but neither is recovery. Both depend on the choices we make right now. And our federal government has a critical role to play. Please support continued investments in conservation, both in the US and around the world.
