Hotel Made Family Leave Dogs in the Car During Harvey!

After an emergency, some folks display great humanity in helping out. Texas after hurricane Harvey is no different. Unfortunately, one family and their three dogs did not encounter this humanity. A Houston family finally found a hotel that had room for them after fleeing the flooding city. But the Holiday Inn Express in Katy Texas refused to suspend their no pet policy for their three dogs. The family had no choice but to leave their dogs in the car during the worst hurricane Texas has ever seen. Arrow, Wiggum and Buttercup had to spend two frightening nights in the family's Prius.

Sign this petition to demand this hotel finds their humanity and suspends their no pet policy during this time of crisis!

The Parker family finally found a hotel where they could stay and then members of their family were denied. It's fine that this hotel has a no pets policy normally, but this is a national and humanitarian crisis. So many people are pulling together to help folks displaced and yet this hotel can't bend their rules for a short time. This is cruel and we need to speak up to demand that everyone does their best to make this mass migration of families as simple and safe as possible.

The hotel is now allowing smaller dogs in, but that's a stupid choice. A dog is a dog and not allowing large dogs in is just cruel.

Sign to ask the hotel to allow all pets in while folks make their way to safety in Texas and ask Holiday Inn to donate towards hurricane relief.
Update #16 years ago
The hotel will now accept pets. They also said they intend to waive the family’s fee and would like to reward them with “club points” to compensate for their “inconvenience.” The Parkers however have not yet been contacted yet but upon hearing the hotel’s offer, have told the company to keep their points and to make a donation to the hurricane relief efforts and the Fort Bend County Animal Services - the organization from which they adopted the dogs that suffered.
