Right now, Washington is considering changes to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), which could increase premiums for millions of Americans.
Every American deserves affordable, comprehensive health coverage – regardless of their income, health status, or pre-existing conditions. Thanks to the ACA, over 14 million Americans enrolled in quality, affordable health coverage in 2021 alone. If Washington lets current subsidies for ACA coverage expire, over 2.9 million Americans are projected to lose coverage and nearly 10.4 million would owe more in premiums each month.
We need your help to protect millions of Americans from higher premiums. Complete this quick form to tell the Biden Administration to build on the Affordable Care Act and ensure Americans continue to have access to affordable health coverage today.
Dear President Biden:
Today I am reaching out to you to ensure access to affordable health care coverage for Americans who need it most. I strongly support actions to enhance the Affordable Care Act by making current federal subsidies permanent in order to protect the more than 2.9 million Americans who are projected to lose coverage and the nearly 10.4 million who would owe more in premiums each month.
Thank you for your hard work to strengthen the Affordable Care Act during the COVID-19 crisis, which has resulted in tremendous progress improving both access and affordability. By temporarily expanding subsidies for health coverage through the Affordable Care Act Marketplaces, millions more Americans have been able to afford coverage.
Maintaining federal subsidies is a bipartisan issue. In fact, 83% of voters think protecting Americans with ACA coverage from premium increases should be an important priority for federal policymakers, including a majority of Democrat (96%), independent (82%), and Republican (70%) voters.
I urge you to continue to build on what's working in health care by making Affordable Care Act subsidies permanent and ensuring Americans continue to have access to affordable health coverage.
