Opioids are devastating Colorado. Hold drug companies accountable!

The opioid epidemic is devastating Coloradans in every corner of our state. Our loved ones are experiencing addiction and overdose deaths while our state funnels countless amounts of money and resources into fighting this crisis.

We now know that for years the pharmaceutical industry, driven by its insatiable desire for high profits, misled the public and doctors while pushing out deceitful marketing campaigns.

As a result, there's evidence that doctors were writing massive amounts of opioid prescriptions – nearly 20 million opioid prescriptions were dispensed to Coloradans from 2013 to 2017 alone. These dangerous and highly-addictive drugs should have never been so casually prescribed in such high volumes.

Multiple cities, counties, and states across the country are experiencing the same effects of the opioid epidemic and are suing pharmaceutical companies for their culpability. We must do the same here in Colorado. That's why this fall we are calling on the newly appointed Attorney General to take action and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable for this preventable epidemic.

Sign the petition and urge our next Attorney General to join a suit and/or file a suit against culpable pharmaceutical companies to obtain the damages that Coloradans are rightfully owed.
Candidates for Colorado Attorney General:

Addiction to opioids has devastated scores of Colorado families. Addressing this crisis must include confronting its causes, and there is now ample evidence that pharmaceutical companies selling these drugs bear significant responsibility. In the interest of justice and health, our next Attorney General should join a suit and/or file a suit against these culpable companies to obtain the damages that Coloradans are rightfully owed. We ask that you pledge to take this action if you are elected to the office of Attorney General.
