Put Communities Back to Work -- Support Technology Training!

The economy is at the forefront of most people's minds, and while many businesses have struggled to weather the recent recession, things are looking up for the Information Technology (IT) sector.
Relative to the U.S. economy, IT firms continue to express more confidence and have shown steady growth despite the recession. In a recent survey of business owners, 48 percent report that they expect to increase investments in research, development and creative initiatives, and nearly one-third expect to increase spending on technology.
The IT market represents one of the fastest growing sectors of the U.S. economy. Investing in career development for fields such as IT can help pull communities out of recession by providing the technical and business skills employers need. But we won't pull our economy into a new era unless we convince our leaders to invest in these opportunities.
Sign the petition urging your Governor to support job development in the IT industry and help put your state back to work.
Dear [Decision Maker],
The economy is at the forefront of most people's minds, and while businesses have struggled to weather the recent recession and states have seen a record number of unemployments, things are looking up for the Information Technology (IT) sector.

Investing in career development training for fields such as IT can provide workers in our state with the technical and business skills employers require. More than almost any other factor, IT skills are applicable in nearly every profession and country worldwide.
Further, the more effective and efficient use of information technology is essential for the continuing global competitiveness and success of America's small businesses. Therefore, I am urging you to support efforts that would educate and assist community members entering the IT market and in turn, support local small businesses.
Thank you for your consideration.
