Getting a home loan, how much you pay for auto insurance, whether you'll land that new job—all can be affected by your credit report.
And a recent Consumer Reports' project found that a third of consumers who checked their credit report found errors, while others were charged to access their reports in spite of a law requiring them to be free annually. Some unwittingly signed up for paid services without realizing it.
The bad news is, credit report errors, difficulties in accessing reports, and extra costs charged by the giant credit reporting agencies hurt consumers financially.
The good news is, we can do something about it.
We're calling on Equifax, Experian and Transunion to change how they do business, and embrace transparency, to ensure everyone has a fair financial future:
Sign our petition now to tell Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to do the right thing. They rely on consumers like you for their livelihoods, so use your power now to get them to change how they do business.
