Tell Kinder Morgan: Abandon your dangerous project now!

Texas oil giant Kinder Morgan is pushing ahead with its pipeline expansion and tanker scheme, which will transport bitumen mixed with toxic diluants from the oilsands in northern Alberta to a port in Burnaby, B.C.

Upon reaching the port, the diluted bitumen will be sent out on tankers through the Burrard Inlet to international markets. A spill — which cannot be adequately cleaned up — threatens endangered killer whales and the safety and livelihood of First Nations and local communities.

Stand with the Green Party of Canada in saying no to Kinder Morgan's dangerous project!

Indigenous peoples, the B.C. government, the governments of Burnaby, Vancouver, Victoria and 18 other B.C. municipalities, and hundreds of thousands of petitioners, have voiced their strong opposition to this project. Green Party of Canada leader Elizabeth May was even arrested for standing in solidarity with local First Nations and concerned residents.

Elizabeth stood on the frontlines to defend our interests. Now we're calling on you to sign our petition to stand with Elizabeth and the Green Party against this project!

From the risks posed by a spill along the pipeline route or in the inlet, to carbon emissions that will make it impossible for Canada to reach its international climate targets, this project cannot proceed.

Tell Kinder Morgan that the public interest will always take precedence over their ability to earn profits. Sign our petition now to stop this pipeline!
Dear Kinder Morgan,

I am calling on you to cancel your Trans Mountain pipeline project. This project is against the wishes and interests of impacted communities, which continue to voice their strong opposition.

[Your comment will be added here]

I stand in solidarity with First Nations, local residents, and all those who are most directly affected by climate change. I stand against your project, whose risks are far too menacing for Canadians to accept.

Sincerely,

[Your name]
