Build More Affordable Housing For Families, Veterans, and Seniors; Pass a Wealth Tax On WA Billionaires and Mega-Millionaires

How many billionaires are in Washington State? Did you say 1, maybe 2?

Actually Washington is one of the richest areas in the world with 13 Washingtonians hoarding $1,000,000,000 or more in wealth. Many more Washingtonians are centi-millionaires, with $100,000,000 or more in their accounts.

Meanwhile, communities from Bellingham to Walla Walla desperately need more money to build affordable housing for families, veterans, and seniors.

They have money to burn, yet mega-millionaires and billionaires in Washington refuse to pay what they owe for affordable housing.

That's right, they've rigged our state's tax code so they get away with contributing the least in taxes, while the rest of us pay more.

Washington is the worst state in the country when it comes to our upside down taxes. Those with the least pay the most in taxes for critical services like affordable housing and education.

It doesn't have to be this way. We came together from across the state to win a modest capital gains tax on the super rich to fund more childcare openings.

Now we demand lawmakers in Olympia make sure mega-millionaires and billionaires pay what they owe to build more affordable housing.

If the wealthiest pay what they owe, all Washingtonians can succeed. Add your name now!

To whom it may concern:

You did the right thing when you passed a capital gains tax on the stock market profits of the top 0.2% of Washingtonians. Now it's time to take the next step.

Pass a wealth tax on Washington's mega-millionaires and billionaires so we can fully address the affordable housing crisis.
